Criteria for Membership

Individual Members must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Serve as a college or university faculty member in art, art education or art-related studies
  • Teaches art in public and/or private school settings
  • Have substantial teaching experience at the college level
  • Play a leadership role in a private art’s organization or governmental art agency
  • Serve as an administrator or supervisor in a school or museum
  • Serve on a state department of education task force or visual arts committee
  • Have, or be working toward, a doctoral degree in art, art education or art-related field
  • Holds an M.F.A. degree in art

Institutional Members must contribute to serving the mission of the UCAE, and are entitled to one representative member.

$20 of membership dues goes to the UCAE Fund. The UCAE Fund was established in 2001 to support exemplary art education. Contributions are fully tax deductible.
